I chanced upon this blog entry from the auto-generated link from my own blog which makes a similar point.

We, are operating under the mistaken belief that moderates will somehow influence the Jihadi scum and therefore we need to make sure that we do not alienate them. So we shy away from even the most basic critique of Islamic tenets.

Actually the moderates have zero influence on the jihadis – but in pandering to them, we are allowing rabid Islam to operate without so much as a critique.

Keep up the good work. Avg folks like us need to speak up and show these pigs that they cannot bully us into submission. They have mistaken our politeness to mean surrender.
